for the ultimate health of the mother?
I've heard in passing that 2 years is a good amount of space to wait.
I'm curious as to if any of y ou have any links for data or information on how much time it takes a Mama's body to recouperate from one pregnancy and be prepared for the next?

My first 2 are 4 years apart. I got pregnant with #3 when #2 was 9 months (she was an oops!!!). I liked it when they were 4 years apart, but I really think it is up to you.

My children are the following ages: 9 (will be 10 on the 17th of April) 5, 3, 18 mos. I didn't feel like I was unhealthy in between the ones that are 2 years apart, physically. But having the last three so close together has tested me emotionally! :?
But, the 3 and 5 year old are thick as thieves (little love hate thing goin' on there) but I would say there are pros and cons and like mama23girls said, it is your own personal choice. And however it plays out, is what you make work for you!

My oldest DD is 3 yrs and 3 months older then my 3 yr. old DD and my youngest DD is 24 months younger! I enjoy the age gap in all of the girls, but 3 yrs. was a little easier then the 24 months! But, hey I think that you learn to play the hand that you are dealt! I do not think that there is any PERFECT age split! I also think it is a personal preference!!
I hope that makes sense....Pain pills are staring to kick in!!

Mine are 18 months apart and they are so close friends.  I would have perfered to have the 3rd one closer so that that one doesn't feel left out but that isn't going to happen anymore as my youngest is 3.

It is a personal choice how close you want them.  I would say that it takes your body and I mean hips 1 1/2 year or 2 years to go back to pre- preganancy so if you want an easier labor have them close together.

When I had my youngest I basically sneezed and she was born.  The nurses and doctors could not keep up with how fast she was coming.
